Celebrate Partnership
A ceremony that authentically represents you and your partner can be moving, delightful, and feel fantastic for all involved. It can be engaging and relaxed, super personal because it's filled with your stories, and be a celebration of both your partnership and your community.
When you work with me as your Ceremony Guide, every element of your celebration is written from scratch. We’ll weave your stories, personalities, spiritual beliefs or non-beliefs, ethnic or cultural backgrounds, personal politics, and values into an exquisite and unique ceremonial tapestry.
Conventional Western non-religious wedding ceremonies can be laden with institutional baggage and expectations of tradition that can feel overwhelming. Yet tradition and convention can be entered into mindfully and consciously—or they can be reframed, subverted or torn to beautiful shreds. There are as many ways to create a wedding ceremony as there are people choosing to get married, limited only by your imagination and the laws of physics. Celebrations can be formal, serene, humorous, quirky, carnivalesque … really, any tone that suits you and your partner. I aim to facilitate a co-creation process that feels spacious and relaxed.
Zombies and Fairies and Trekkies, Oh My!
As a trained theatre artist and actor, I would be thrilled to lend my talent and experience to help you bring your non-traditional theme wedding to walking and breathing life (or to stumbling undead, in the case of a zombie wedding!). I did a Halloween wedding where the couple asked me to dress up as a creepy clown, which I did with great delight. I would put up a photo but that would freak some people out (the photos are on my Instagram however!).
Legal or Ceremonial, it's all Love
You don't need to get legally married to celebrate your love. I get it, marriage might be an institution you want nothing to do with. That's why when my partner and I celebrated our love it was only after years of discussion and we called it our Big Special I Love You Party, because calling it a wedding was not true to us. I treat commitment ceremonies with the same significance and respect and would be thrilled to help you honour your love.
Inclusivity
I always seek to be an inclusive and welcoming celebrant, sensitive to people’s needs and experiences based on age, race, ethnicity, ability, religious or spiritual beliefs, sexuality, gender identity/expression, socio-economic status or political beliefs. As a queer, nonbinary and polyamorous person, I’m an active ally to folks who identify as queer, gay, lesbian, trans, nonbinary, two-spirit, kinky, and polyamorous. Who you are is welcome here.

Ceremony Options
You can choose from either my custom, Handcrafted Ceremony, my short-and-sweet Meaningful Moment Ceremony, or to just do a Signing Ceremony if a friend is officiating your main ceremony.
Other than the package you choose, my fees remain the same no matter the number of guests, day of the week, or month of the year. You can have a short and sweet ceremony on a Saturday with 100 guests, or you can have a customized, story-filled ceremony with 15 guests on a Friday. It all depends on the type of ceremony you want.

Handcrafted Ceremony
As your celebrant, I would be honoured to gather your stories and share them with your community. I will guide you through a relaxed, easy and fun ceremony creation process. I will ask you to tell me about your relationship journey and aspirations for the ceremony through an initial Zoom online conversation, face-to face meetings and a reflection exercise. Based on the information you provide about your stories, personalities, values, interests, politics, ethnic or cultural heritages and identities, spiritual or religious beliefs or non-beliefs, I will research and suggest possible one-of-a-kind celebration options that embrace and reflect your love story, and together we’ll decide on a ceremony structure and elements or rituals that speak to you. We will work together to edit each part until you feel: “Yes! This is awesome!” This is the most common way I work with partners. Handcrafted Ceremonies run about 25 to 30 minutes long.
I'm excited to offer you:

Meaningful Moment
In the Meaningful Moment option I offer a simple, light-hearted, non-religious ceremony as our starting point. Within that, there a few points you can personalize, such as choosing how you would like to do vows, and adding in readings if you wish. We'll meet for about one hour online and I'll learn some of your stories in our chat so I can add about a paragraph of storytelling into the ceremony. If you're interested in adding in more of your stories, or unity rituals like a Handfasting, then my Handcrafted Ceremony option is the best fit for you. The ceremony ends up being about 10 to 15 minutes long.
